Murphysboro Red Devil Football and Boy's Basketball have a new radio home for the 2019-20 school year!
WDBX 91.1 FM and River Radio of Southern Illinois, along with Murphysboro Athletic Director Len Novara released the official news.
"We are very excited to be able to bring the fans of Murphysboro Red Devil football and boys basketball this opportunity to listen to every game on 91.1 FM through our continued broadcast partnership with WDBX Community Radio for Southern Illinois," said Steve Falat, River Radio GM / Market Manager.
WDBX Station Manager Kendall Boysen stated, "WDBX 91.1 FM is proud to partner with River Radio and broadcast Murphysboro Red Devil sports and are looking forward to an exciting season and building a stronger connection with the Murphysboro community and their loyal fans."
Murphysboro Athletic Director Len Novara said he was happy to once again have all football and boy's basketball games on the radio. "As the Red Devils Athletic Director, I am extremely excited to welcome WDBX to the Red Devils radio booth for the coming year. Special thanks to River Radio for creating this opportunity for the Murphysboro community. We can't wait for the first broadcast which will be the annual Murphysboro vs. Carbondale football game on August 30th (to be played at Legendary and "NEW" Doc Bencini field on the MHS Campus, 7pm), marking the 102nd game in this Jackson County Rivalry."
